Please Don’t Use Ping
Because we use a tool that was created by another company (Basecamp) there are bound to be features that we won’t use. Basecamp is very customizable and works great for myXP but unfortunately there is one feature we can’t do anything about…
THE DREADED PING!
If you have used the ping you were likely directed to this article. Here is why we must ask that you NEVER use ping.
- There is no assignment, no queue, and as a result it is VERY likely that your request will be missed.
- It’s a private interaction that leaves out the rest of the myXP team- like whispering a secret or sending a text message. No one else can see your request…and the myXP team is pretty awesome. This will certainly cause you to wait for your answer unnecessarily.
- It’s crucial that everyone at your church in your basecamp group has visibility to all interactions with our team.
So if not a Ping then what?
THE GLORIOUS TO-DO or HELP TICKET OPTION!!!
Why is the to-do or help ticket better?
- If you follow the process for creating the to-do or submitting a help ticket (see related articles below), it absolutely cannot be missed. You will get your question answered and your task completed asap.
- We can have a clear & ongoing conversation about your question/task to ensure we have all the information needed to do the best job possible.
- It is easily searchable and something we can come back to quickly if the same issue arises or we need to reference it in the future.
Regardless if you have a quick question or anything else, if you are looking for ANY kind of response from the myXP team, creating a proper to-do or submitting a help ticket is the answer.
So what should you do if you need to you convey something of a sensitive nature that shouldn't be seen by everyone in your basecamp group?
Please send an email to help@myxp.church to open a ticket (article below).
