Why We Built These Tools

I've served in the back office of the church my entire life. I know what it's like to be the person who holds the checkbook, the payroll and the paperwork, and who is trying to do all of it faithfully while the rest of the church is focused on ministry. That's the work I love, and it's why myXP exists.

For a long time we asked you to work with us through a lot of different tools: a support form, shared spreadsheets, Basecamp to-dos, one form for a pay change and another for a new hire, help articles to find the right one. You learned all of it. You figured out which link to use and what we needed to know before you could even submit. You did the work to understand how to work with us, and you did it patiently, around everything else on your plate. Thank you. I don't take that for granted.

It also wasn't good enough. Too often the form didn't send you anything back. You had to search for the right form, and know everything before you could fill it in. If you had several things to submit, you did several forms. That wasn't what I wanted for you.

Where this came from

Books, Team and Forms came from you. The churches we serve have told us what was confusing, what was slow and what they wished worked differently. We kept all of it. These tools are built from that feedback and from a lifetime of serving the church, and what I wanted was simple: tools that are easy to understand, that tell you what's happening, and that I'm proud to put in front of you.

I know no one enjoys a change like this, and I'm sorry for the effort it asks of you. I think it's worth it. You'll see what you sent, hear back when we have it, and approve what comes in before it's paid.

What we promise

  • Real people review everything you send us. Every submission is looked at by a person on our team who cares about getting it right, and no money is sent until someone on our team has reviewed it.
  • AI doesn't make decisions about your money or your people. No AI approves a bill, sends a payment or enters a pay change in payroll. Our team does. Where our team uses AI, it only offers an opinion or reads a document for us, and a person reviews it and makes the call before anything changes.
  • We take responsibility for what happens. If something goes wrong, we own it and we make it right.
  • We treat God's money the way it should be treated. With care, with accountability, and with the understanding that every dollar was given by someone who trusted the church with it.

We want to hear from you

These tools will keep changing, and you're the reason. Use the Feedback button at the bottom of the menu in Books and Team and tell us what's working, what's confusing and what would serve your church better. We read it.

Thank you for trusting us with this work.
